Ted celebrated his 99th birthday on April 1, 2003. Congratulations!! Text Box: * Green Tea Conversations II were held on April 27th and May 4th with very productive results. * On May 3, the UCW, headed by Naomi Takasaki, prepared Chow Mein for the JC Cultural Centre’s Bazaar. * Forty members and friends attended the “Ladies Night” on May 9th. The event was sponsored by the Men’s Club in appreciation for all the good works provided by the CJUC ladies. * The Christian Family Sunday luncheon was held on May 11 sponsored by the UCW and headed by Eileen Ogura. * Lynda Katsuno was the guest speaker at the May 25th Sunday Service. (See Page 24) * The celebration of the Children’s Special Sunday Service was held on June 1st. This was formerly called promotion Sunday. * UCW held their Windup Dinner on June 6. * A Congregational meeting was held on June 8 to discuss “Our Emerging Timeline”. * New Revised Standard Version of Bibles will be purchased for the Church. The Men’s Club will administer donations and name plates for the Bibles. * Mr. and Mrs. Araki of Kyoto, Japan presented a framed photograph taken in April of the sakura trees in full bloom in appreciation for the fellowship extended to their son, Dr. Tekashi Araki, who is currently doing research at the Hospital for Sick Children here in Toronto.
