Text Box: On the Lighter Side ...

Text Box: It was Palm Sunday and, because of a sore throat, five-year-old Johnny stayed home from church with a sitter.
When the family returned home, they were carrying
several palm branches. The boy asked what they were for. "People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by."
"Wouldn't you know it," the boy fumed, "The one Sunday I don't go, He showed up!"
Text Box: The Sunday School teachers met recently to review their progress to date.

Naomi Takasaki is in charge of the Nursery which is mainly for babysitting of children under three and Clara Kai is in charge of the older ones.

We encourage all the children to begin worship in the chapel and where possible the parents to please remain for the rest of the church service.

With regards to rooms for the children, we have created an infant’s room on the same floor as the chapel. It is to be used for nursery children under three and the parents can either leave their child with Christine Takasaki, who is in charge of this room, or stay in the room if this is more comfortable for the children.

For children either four or five or six, we would like them to go downstairs to the room with all the toys, also known as the ESL room (English Second Language). Noby Matsugu and Carolynn Branton and perhaps others will be preparing lessons for these children.
Text Box: Those in grade ( i.e.) six or older should go to the parlour which is next to the kitchen. Amy Nagahara will be teaching on the first Sunday; Linda Craenen and Richard Okura on the second Sunday and Pat Idenouye and Kathy Saito on the third Sunday and Rob Kunihiro will be teaching on the fourth Sunday. If there is a fifth Sunday, Clara Kai will teach this class.

For the music program, Tina Ichiyen with helpers will take part on the second and fourth Sunday.

Please remember that this is only a guideline and therefore changes may occur.

To the parents, “Thank you for coming to worship. We encourage you to come not only on the fourth Sunday but every Sunday, if possible”.

If any parents have any questions or ideas to improve the Sunday School or wish to help with the Sunday School program, contact Naomi Takasaki, Clara Kai, or Roy Fukuzawa at 416-249-1797.
