Text Box: large office buildings, Imperial Oil stations, the Ottawa Airport, Kiyoto and Sakura restaurants and all the woodwork in the new 28-floor Sheraton Centre Hotel. Our last project in Montreal was an extensive home renovation for Mr. and Mrs. Paul Demarais (in-laws of the Prime Minister of Canada) with my brother Tosh. Mr. Demarais spent nearly four million dollars on the renovation (see photo). We installed fancy mouldings; set up a library, den, T.V. room and did all the woodwork.
I worked for this company for five years ... (During the forty years I worked in this industry, I missed six months due to an operation in 1975).

Family Reunion

In 1978, our sister and her daughter came to Canada from Osaka. It was their first visit here. It would be forty-four years since we last saw her. Our parents took us to Japan in 1934 ... Her comment about Canada was “Everything is big here.”
Text Box: Moved to Toronto

We moved to Toronto in 1994. Since then we joined Centennial-Japanese United Church; Wynford Seniors and the Senior Bowling League. I’m grateful that I am still able to lead an active life doing volunteer work and maintaining four Sakauye homes. We have two sons, one daughter, three grandsons and one grandaughter. We are all together here in the Toronto area.

(We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank all the wonderful people that we have met during our long and fruitful faith journey from Tofino, B.C. to Toronto, Ontario)
